Not an easy install on MAC The Drive seems to work fine but the install on a MAC has issues. Not clean at all. I skipped the final steps as I couldn't get the extensions to install. Appears to work fine with Timemachine so far

Great Software included froze at installation. Had to reformat drive right away as it was preventing windows from starting somehow. After that it works great!

Setup Easy setup and exactly what I needed. If using on a Mac, you have to partition and format the unit as Mac journaled to use as a time machine backup.

My Book for DISH movie transfers if Hopper's full. I had an Elements, trying a My Book this time, since it was a free upgrade. I'm not sure if there appears to be a difference, but DISH movies are fine with the transfer for external storage. The DISH Hopper holds 7 TB. It's too bad there aren't...

Automatic backup I have not yet tried the WD My Book automatic backup feature but is on my lists of things to do. That is the reason I purchased it.

WD My Book I have 5 My Book external hard drives and this my 6th and 7th! I love them. I have had them for many many years and they are very reliable and easy to use. Price is great and I get good service too.

Great for mass storage of data . I have been using these units for 15+ years .I merge the data to a new one around every 5 years . I have only had one fail and recycled threw the website so far. They are intended for long term storage of large files . It isn't a performance drive .

Not an equivalent replacement for unsupported prod It is the not the same product that I bought it to replace because you will no longer support the old MY cloud. It might be a nice backup device but the other was online to all of my computerss
