14mm Ultra Wide Lens; a specialty lens! This lens is way more versatile than that. Its close focus, and ultra close focus on an extension tube, no real lack of detail or contrast even when shooting directly toward the sun, brilliant colours, auto focus and wide aperture make this lens something else... Purchased for architectural and streetscape photography. For a lot of my building photography I use an adapted Canon 24mm tilt/shift lens (using tilt only), but in tight spaces I needed a wider lens and I decided to try the wider Sony 14mm as a compromise rather than purchase the Canon 17mm t/s lens... This lens is amazingly sharp and lightweight. I like the fast f1.8 for shallow depth of field even for an ultra-wide lens. Only negative is there is no front filter which makes me a bit careful using it, although the front dust cap is study and fits well. Overall it's better than expected!
